"What is that in your hand?"
This past weekend, our Ride for ReACT Cycling Team met at the Village at Blue Mountain for a practice ride of the 86 km ride/race we have all signed up for on September 18 and 19 of this year. The distance was challenging enough but with the addition of so much vertical feet to climb up and over the Niagara escarpment and back made most of us weary to say the least! Most of us were exhausted by the end as we nursed our spasming muscles but we all felt the thrill of meeting the challenge together as a Team.
On September 18 and 19 of this year, our Cycling Team "Chain ReACTion" will ride this same course with over 2,000 other riders in support of various causes. I am incredibly grateful and humbled to see this Team of 12 come together for our second annual ride in support of the children of Kenya through ReACT Kenya. Our partners and good friends Tim and Brenda Gordon have taken the lead once again for this Team and we are so thankful for everyone that is riding and getting in shape with purpose. We have a lofty goal of raising $20,000 Canadian for the work of ReACT (last year we raised over $14,000!) and we would love to reach out to anyone that would like to join our Team last minute! If you are a cyclist and would like to join our community of cyclists, it is not too late to join! Contact us to find out how. Like last year, we have custom Sugoi jerseys being made up specifically for the Team with an updated design and we would love to see you wearing one with us. (You can also make an on-line donation here as well.)
A little boys lunch was such an ordinary thing but its ordinary things in the hands of the Divine that brings change. God asked Moses once, "what is that in your hand?" and He took an ordinary walking stick to do something extraordinary. Whatever ordinary thing you find in your hands, bike or otherwise, may be exactly what the Divine chooses to use to do incredible things.
